Ég söng þetta lag fyrst hjá Má Magnússyni í söngskólanum og heillaðist af samstarfi Davíðs Stefánssonar og Sigvalda Kaldalóns. Það er eitthvað í þessu lagi sem hoppar á milli angurværðar og dramatíkur og það er svo fallegt.

The social realism of Iceland’s beloved poet Davíð Stefánsson has always struck a chord with me, and the melodies that M.D./composer Sigvaldi Kaldalóns constructed to his words are haunting and eternal. This song skips between serenity and the dramatic in a way that is hard to reproduce.
